Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
