"Enough time has gone by that I can now articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced spending more time together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the movie, commenting that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".
"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes wrote.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist
In a distinct tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld
In a new development, a Los Angeles judge agreed to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the local authorities.
A legal directive placed a security hold on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
